Orion: The Hunter

Orion is a debated constellation (there is a lot of disagreement on which way he is standing, and if he is holding a sword or a bow or a dagger), but no matter how people see him, one thing is always certain; his belt. Orion's belt, made up of the three brightest stars in the constellation, is one of the most widely recognized starlines in the sky.

Orion was a hunter, born of the sea-god Poseidon and the Amazon queen (and master huntress), Euryale. He inhereted his mother's gift for the hunt, but also was unfortunate enough to develop a strong ego to accompany his talents. He once boasted that he was so great as to be able to slay any beast, no matter how big and strong. With the universe's cruel twist of ironic humour, Orion was stung by a small scorpion and killed by the poison. He was then placed in the heavens with weapon in hand.
